The Oscillating Cluster Correlation Function
According to the traditional view galaxies are clustered on small scales, and on large scales the distribution of galaxies and clusters of galaxies is random (i.e. scale-free). Such a distribution is expected for the currently popular structure formation scenario based on the evolving dynamics of the dark matter during the history of the Universe. Quantitatively this behaviour is described by t...
متن کاملEvolution of the Cluster Correlation Function
We study the evolution of the cluster correlation function and its richnessdependence from z = 0 to z = 3 using large-scale cosmological simulations. A standard flat LCDM model with Ωm = 0.3 and, for comparison, a tilted Ωm = 1 model, TSCDM, are used. The evolutionary predictions are presented in a format suitable for direct comparisons with observations. We find that the cluster correlation st...
متن کاملCLUSTER ALGEBRAS AND CLUSTER CATEGORIES
These are notes from introductory survey lectures given at the Institute for Studies in Theoretical Physics and Mathematics (IPM), Teheran, in 2008 and 2010. We present the definition and the fundamental properties of Fomin-Zelevinsky’s cluster algebras. Then, we introduce quiver representations and show how they can be used to construct cluster variables, which are the canonical generator...
متن کاملDetermining Ω from cluster correlation function
It is shown how data on the cluster correlation function can be used in order to reconstruct the density of the pregalactic density field on the cluster mass scale. The method is applied to the data on the cluster correlation amplitude – richness dependence. The spectrum of the recovered density field has the same shape as the density field derived from data on the galaxy correlation function w...
متن کاملGalaxy Cluster Correlation Function to Z ∼ 1.5 in the Irac Shallow Cluster Survey
We present the galaxy cluster autocorrelation function of 277 galaxy cluster candidates with 0.25 ≤ z ≤ 1.5 in a 7 deg2 area of the IRAC Shallow Cluster Survey. We find strong clustering throughout our galaxy cluster sample, as expected for these massive structures. Specifically, at 〈z〉 = 0.5 we find a correlation length of r0 = 17.40+3.98 −3.10 h −1 Mpc, in excellent agreement with the Las Cam...
